Celebrating Our Roots: Prehemptive CBD and the 2028 Summer Olympics
As Los Angeles gears up to host the 2028 Summer Olympics from July 14–30, 2028, and the Paralympic from August 15, 2028, it’s a particularly exciting time for Prehemptive CBD. Founded in Los Angeles in 2016, Prehemptive is proud to be 100% California-made and rooted in the same city that will soon welcome the world’s biggest sporting event. The Games of the XXXIV Olympiad, commonly known as LA28, will bring athletes from around the globe to compete in at least 35 sports, including the newly added skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing. Los Angeles, a city known for its innovation and passion, is ready to shine—and Prehemptive is excited to be part of this historic moment.
Volunteer Opportunities at LA28: Be Part of History
While we await official details from the LA28 organizers, the Olympic Games present an incredible opportunity for Southern Californians to get involved. NBC Los Angeles reports that more than 20 million locals will have the chance to apply for volunteer positions, following in the footsteps of Paris 2024, where 300,000 people applied but only 15% were selected. Volunteers will support a range of activities, from hospitality to event operations, ensuring athletes and guests enjoy a seamless experience. Given that Los Angeles is one of the most diverse cities in the world, bilingual volunteers will likely have an edge. Make sure to stay updated by signing up for the LA28 newsletter.
2028 Paralympic Games
In the summer of 2028, Los Angeles will not only host the Summer Olympics but will also welcome the world for an extraordinary Paralympic Games. Mark your calendars for August 15, 2028, as the LA28 Paralympic Games kick off with inspiring performances and a cast of talented Paralympians, adaptive athletes, and artists like Ali Stroker and Anderson.Paak. This event will celebrate the incredible achievements of athletes from around the world as they compete on the biggest stage in sports.
LA’s Youth Sports Initiatives Through the Olympics
The city of Los Angeles is taking full advantage of its role as the host of the 2028 Olympics to inspire and engage the next generation of athletes. With various programs and partnerships, LA is focusing on increasing access to sports for young people across diverse communities. Initiatives like the PlayLA program, launched in collaboration with the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, provide free or low-cost sports programs to thousands of local youth, emphasizing inclusivity and fitness. By leveraging the excitement of the Olympics, Los Angeles aims to foster a love for sports and physical activity, promoting healthy lifestyles and creating a lasting legacy for future generations.
Private Sector Projects Paving the Way for LA28 Success
Several private projects are playing a crucial role in Los Angeles' preparations for the 2028 Olympics. One of the standout initiatives is the construction of a sports park in the San Fernando Valley, which will host various Olympic events. This park emphasizes sustainable building practices, using recycled materials and energy-efficient systems to align with LA’s green goals. Additionally, the "Twenty-Eight by '28" Initiative, a collaboration between public and private sectors, aims to complete 28 key transportation projects, including the Purple Line extension and Crenshaw/LAX Line, enhancing connectivity throughout the city. The Los Angeles Convention Center is also undergoing expansion, a private development project that will host multiple Olympic events and serve as the hub of the Downtown Sports Park. Private sector engagement is further emphasized through the Olympian/Paralympian Fellowship Program, which creates commercial partnerships and sponsorship opportunities that will boost the local economy while supporting the Olympic and Paralympic athletes. These private developments not only contribute to the successful hosting of the Olympics but also leave a lasting legacy of improved infrastructure and sustainability for the city.
CBD in Sports: Performance and Recovery
Though CBD is not allowed for athletes during the Olympic Games, many are using it during training for its benefits in recovery and performance enhancement. CBD helps athletes manage pain, reduce inflammation, and recover faster, making it a valuable tool outside of competition. Prehemptive CBD, with its roots in Los Angeles, has been helping active individuals and athletes alike manage their recovery routines responsibly.
